MTO Approved Driver Training & BDE Course in Ottawa

D.T.S.M.® offers Ministry-Approved Beginner Driver Education (BDE) Courses

D.T.S.M.’s course offering is digitally interactive, allowing students to take the program at their own pace without following a class schedule. For example, we do not use video conferencing technology; our videos are pre-recorded on the material covered.

D.T.S.M.’s admissions process utilizes a rolling admissions system. Once a student has registered, the course starts after processing the student’s application within 24 hours.

Ministry of Transportation (MTO) Standards

As per MTO regulations, all students must complete their online digital course (Steps 1 and 2) before any in-vehicle training can commence. Failure to comply with the following MTO regulations will result in the forfeiture of your certification with the MTO and require you to repurchase a new program at cost.

All training courses are conducted in accordance with the MTO's standards. Upon completing the D.T.S.M.® beginner driver education course, each student will be certified electronically with the MTO. An MTO certification allows students to take the Ontario Class G2 Road Test eight (8) months from when their Ontario Class G1 license was issued, rather than the standard twelve (12) months.

Once certified with the MTO, the student can request a Driver’s License History Form (DLH Form). Please note that the MTO will charge you a fee for the DLH Form. In addition, the DLH Form will be required to verify a student’s completion of the Beginner Driver Education (BDE) course for possible insurance discount eligibility.
